All members of the NJHS are required to perform 20 total hours of service throughout the school year. 10 hours will be due by a date in December and 10 additional hours will be due by a date in May.
Service hours can be earned by doing a wide variety of things. As long as students are not being paid for their service and it is outside of their house they may count it. Please be sure that the person overseeing the student signs the sheet, parents cannot sign the sheet. Some examples that have been used in the past (but not limited to) :
-raking leaves/ cutting neighbors grass for free, -volunteering at church in any form -track out cleaners for teachers -recycling duty at school -volunteering at Special Olympics -volunteering in the special education classes at WLMS or other schools -helping teachers on workday at WLMS or other schools -Stop Hunger Now, Salvation Army Christmas drive -Toys for Tots -volunteering at sibling's sporting events -coaching or assisting with Miracle League
*Students will earn hours for doing flag duty throughout the year, students should have Ms. Mack in the front office sign their forms. Flag duty counts as 2 total hours for the week.
